Wear Purple Day

Wearing Purple today can signify two different causes...honoring LGBT youngsters "who have committed suicide in recent weeks/months due to homophobic abuse in their homes and schools" or Domestic Violence Awareness Month.

Both are two very important causes in my real life.

My younger brother is gay and in witnessing the discrimination that he faces daily, I personally support the awareness and this cause. By wearing purple today, it is just a stand to end the bully and discrimination against LGBT.

October is also Domestic Violence Awareness. Domestic Violence can happen to anyone, male or female, regardless of who you are. I found myself in two domestically abusive relationships, both of which I was able to leave. I usually don't share this so openly but in the spirit of raising awareness, I have decided it is important.

Today, I proudly wear purple in both RL and SL.

On Wisconsin!!!

This week Alexohol released the Wisconsin line, just in time for the big game between Ohio State and Wisconsin this past Saturday night. I've been bugging Alex for awhile now for a WI line...after all that is where I live (On a side note...I am NOT a cheese-head).

I finally got my wish.

So here is a little background: I love Alex...I've known her for as long as I've been in SL. We have been best friends/sisters. Helping her and Kylie out with Alexohol is always a blast. But she is a die hard Ohio State fan.

With all the events going on in SL right there, there are quiet a few ways to stumble upon some really amazing work. Call for Couture, the Jewelry Fair, hunts, the different sales...it's really endless.

All of these releases are new from *ICED* and can be found at Call for Couture and the Jewelry Fair.

Call for Couture runs through Oct 31st showcasing 185 brands with new and exclusive items. Half of the profits from the couture(auction) items will be going to UK registered charity The Samaritans. (www.samaritans.org Reg charity number: 219432). There are also pret-a-porter items. The Maddy necklace is the *ICED* pret-a-porter item. You can get this beautiful necklace *ICED* @ Call for Couture.

The Jewelry Fair started on the 8th and runs through the 17th. These are just a sample of pieces you can get. All the necklaces are from *ICED* and can be found here .
